The Program

Agricultural Biotechnology is a science-based discipline that applies biological and molecular techniques to improve crops, enhance food production, and promote sustainable agriculture.

In the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (CANR), KNUST, under the Faculty of Agriculture, within the Department of Crop and Soil Sciences.

About AABS–KNUST

The Association of Agricultural Biotechnology Students (AABS–KNUST) is the official student body representing all Agricultural Biotechnology students at KNUST. The Association supports academic excellence, student welfare, leadership development, and professional growth.

AABS–KNUST organizes academic seminars, hands-on tutorials, industry and field trips, leadership development programs, social activities, and flagship events such as AABS Week, Green Week, Aponkye Cup, and the annual AABS Dinner.

Membership is open to all students enrolled in the BSc. Agricultural Biotechnology programme at KNUST. Members automatically become part of the Association upon enrollment.

Members benefit from academic support, mentorship, practical skill development, industry exposure, leadership opportunities, networking with alumni, and a strong sense of community.
